You can relieve pelvic pain, perineal swelling, and other pain associated with childbirth with the Haakaa Cooling Perineal Pillow. This pillow is designed for women who have given birth vaginally or who are experiencing discomfort from childbirth.

This compression pad is designed to be refrigerated or frozen to help relieve pain and soreness. The pad is placed inside a soft cotton sleeve, which provides a protective layer between the pad and your skin, and is attached to your underwear to hold it securely in place. We’ve provided two of these sleeves so you can switch between them regularly if you find yourself having a major leak. Additionally, this set comes with five non-woven fabric covers for the fridge or freezer, which help create a hygienic barrier between the pad and the rest of your cold storage items.

Features:

  • The flexible, reusable pad can be refrigerated or frozen to soothe aches and pains associated with childbirth.
  • The soft cotton sleeves provide a layer of effective and gentle protection between the pad and your skin.
  • Interlock the sleeves over your underwear to hold them securely in place.
  • The portable storage bag allows you to take the pad and sleeves anywhere.
  • BPA and phthalate free.

Contents:

1 x Reusable Cooling Compressed Perineal Pad

2 x Cotton Sleeves

5 x Non-woven Fabric Covers

1 x Portable Storage Bag (Bluestone)

How to use

Instructions

Can be refrigerated or frozen. Use for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time. Always test the temperature of the pad before use.

Chilled - Chill for at least an hour before use. Once cool, remove the bandage from the cloth cover and insert into the cotton sleeve before applying to your skin.

Frozen - Store in the freezer for at least an hour before use. Once frozen, remove the bandage from the cloth cover and insert into the cotton sleeve before applying to your skin. Do not apply frozen compression bandages directly to the skin as this can cause frostbite.

Once the pad is inside the cotton sleeve, place it inside your underwear, just like you would a menstrual pad. Secure the pad to your underwear by closing the snaps on the sides of the cotton sleeve. Readjust if it is not comfortable.

Cleaning + Care

Hand wash compression pads regularly in warm, soapy water. Wash cotton sleeves by hand or in the washing machine on a delicate cycle on cold. Hang to dry. During your postpartum period, your perineal pad will need to be cleaned after each use to maintain hygiene. Non-woven pads are disposable; however, you can reuse them by gently washing them in warm, soapy water and letting them dry. Please be aware that regular washing of non-woven covers may compromise their effectiveness and integrity over time.
