The Haakaa Silicone Colostrum Collector is a world first design, giving mothers the option to store colostrum before and after birth and is a safe and easy to use storage solution.
Colostrum is traditionally collected in single-use syringes that are often made of harmful plastics. Our collector is made from 100% medical-grade silicone, which means none of the nasty toxins will leak out and can be safely stored in the fridge or freezer. It’s easy to use and can be used multiple times, making it the perfect choice for moms before and after birth!
Please note: Make sure you get clearance from your health professional before having a prenatal vacuum extraction as there may be a risk of premature labour.

Note: Once the baby has suckled from the pacifier tip, it is no longer sterile. Sterilize before reuse.
Assembly:
Make sure to sterilize the collector before use. Sterilize using any steam sterilizer or by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes, then gently squeeze the collector body to suck drops of colostrum directly from the nipple using the pointed tip, alternatively, remove the collector head and pump directly into the collector body.
Storage:
Label the bottle, making sure to include your name, the date and time you pumped. Store in the refrigerator or freezer according to your country's breast milk storage guidelines.
feeding:
There is no need to transfer colostrum between containers. The collector head is just the right size to drop colostrum into the corner of baby's mouth. Before feeding, warm the colostrum by placing the collector under warm water until the colostrum reaches room temperature.
Cleaning + Care
Sterilize each colostrum collector before use using any steam sterilizer or by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes.
Use all the colostrum in the container for one feeding and discard any leftover.
Do not use any detergents or bleach tablets to sterilize or clean your Haakaa products. Do not use UV sterilizers to clean this product as it may affect its lifespan.
