Haakaa Silicone Nipple Shields are an effective tool to help mothers who have issues with premature or sick babies, flat or inverted nipples, tongue/lip twitching, over-activity or just getting used to the entire breast when feeding.

Wash before initial use. Hand wash recommended in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry. Clean after each use. Can be boiled or steam sterilized. Store in a clean, dry place, avoid direct sunlight.

How to use

1. Press the chamber and fold the base of the condom back.

2. Place the condom opening in the middle over the nipple, press against your breast and fold the base back to its original position.

3. Release your grip on the chamber - you should feel a slight suction.

4. You may not be able to get the condom in place correctly on the first try, so readjust it until it is comfortable.

5. Offer your baby the shield to start breastfeeding. Breast milk will continue to flow to the extended nipple, allowing your baby to breastfeed.

Tip: Try expressing a few drops of breast milk into the condom before inserting it to make latching easier.

Cleaning + Care

Clean after each use with hot, soapy water. Use a soft brush or sponge. We recommend the Haakaa Double Ended Cleaning Brush which is the perfect size for cleaning all Haakaa products.

Although dishwasher safe, we recommend sterilizing your Haakaa products using any steam sterilization system or by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes.
